Last summer, Jessica arrived at our Connection Camp unsure of what to expect. New to the area and new to parenting, she was searching for support, stability, and connection for both herself and her daughter.

Through small moments of play, conversation, and encouragement, Jessica found much more than a summer program.

Today, Jessica and her daughter are already looking forward to returning this summer. Because when caregivers feel supported, children thrive.

Sometimes, even the most basic necessities can create unexpected stress — and diapers are no exception.

That's where our Diaper Drive makes a difference. As one parent shared, "Diapers and wipes are very expensive. This helped me and my baby have what we needed and allowed us to not worry."

Big thanks to Keller Williams Kansas City North for spending their Red Day giving back alongside Futures First. 🌱

Volunteers helped prepare raised garden beds that will soon become hands-on learning spaces for families participating in our parenting classes. These gardens will help children explore the joy of growing their own food while giving families practical ways to incorporate fresh produce into everyday meals.

The earliest years are filled with opportunities to learn, connect, and grow — and sometimes that growth starts with a handful of soil and a tiny seed.

We’re grateful for community partners like Keller Williams who help create spaces where children and families can learn together, build healthy habits, and nurture what’s next. 🩵

Brian brings more than 20 years of experience supporting children, youth, and families, along with a deep commitment to strengthening connection, stability, and access to care for our community’s youngest children and caregivers.

As we recognize Mental Health Awareness Month, we’re proud to have Brian helping lead this important work and expand compassionate support for children and families across Kansas City.
