What happens when high school student leaders are given the chance to inspire the next generation?
At Turner USD 202, it looks like the LEAD Summit.
This spring, Turner High School Student Council members hosted elementary student council leaders from all four elementary schools for a morning focused on leadership, empowerment, accountability, and dreams.
Planned and led by high school students, the event gave younger students the chance to connect with peers from across the district, learn from older student leaders, participate in team-building activities, tour Turner High School, and begin imagining what leadership can look like in their own futures.
For the high school students, the day was an opportunity to bring the energy and inspiration they have gained from out of district leadership conferences back home to Turner.
For the elementary students, it was a chance to meet new friends, see what opportunities are ahead, and recognize that they already have what it takes to make a difference in their schools.
