Letter to our community members.
In the time where this administration is %100 targeting immigrants we now have to worry about predatory immigration attorneys who make money by being influencers and lying to our community members giving false hope.

In the last weeks we have seen multiple cases of attorneys running "paper mills" saying that they will help you fix your status in some shady processes.

We are highly disappointed in attorneys (mostly white- but some hispanic attorneys) monetizing of the fear of our community. We condemn these actions.

We recommend you do your due diligence and ask for advice, feedback and do your research when obtaining an immigration attorney, when paying money to outside law firms and others stating they can help you easily. Talk with your support system to make sure that what a lawyer is saying is not too good to be true.

Carta a los miembros de nuestra comunidad.

En estos tiempos en los que la actual administración tiene a los inmigrantes como objetivo al 100%. Ahora debemos preocuparnos también por abogados de inmigración depredadores que lucran actuando como «influencers», mintiendo a los miembros de nuestra comunidad y brindándoles falsas esperanzas.

En las últimas semanas, hemos visto múltiples casos de abogados que operan «fábricas de documentos», afirmando que ayudarán a regularizar su estatus mediante procesos turbios/falsos.

Estamos profundamente decepcionados con aquellos abogados (en su mayoría blancos, aunque también algunos hispanos) que monetizan el miedo de nuestra comunidad. Condenamos estas acciones.

Les recomendamos que ejerzan diligencia: busquen asesoramiento y referencias, e investiguen a fondo antes de contratar a un abogado de inmigración, así como antes de realizar pagos a bufetes externos u a otras personas que afirmen poder ayudarles con facilidad. Nunca paguen sin hacer sus investigaciones, preguntas, y confirmar con uno o dos personas cercanas sobre un caso que se escuche muy bueno para hacer verdad.

DACA Community,
We know its have been tough. There are many "mutual aid" groups that are here to help.

Mutual aid is community helping community. And when we are constantly being attacked by this administration this is where we need to lean on our community.

Comunidad con DACA:
Sabemos que han sido momentos difíciles. Existen muchos grupos de "ayuda mutua" dispuestos a ayudar.

La ayuda mutua consiste en que la comunidad apoye a la misma comunidad. Y, cuando sufrimos ataques constantes por parte de esta administración, es precisamente cuando debemos apoyarnos en nuestra comunidad.

DACA Renewals are taking WAY over the normal processing time. THIS IS THEIR TACTIC!

We MUST remember how/who won DACA! It was us! We need to continue fighting and advocating. Of course with precaution as we know this ADMINISTRATION is racist as heck!
