Come to Retro Mystery Movie Days at the Westport Branch! This month we are featuring "Murder on the Orient Express" (the 2017 remake with Kenneth Branagh and Penelope Cruz -- if you haven't seen the 1974 original with Albert Finney and Lauren Bacall, it is available in our library system) AND "Body Heat" (the 1981 neo-noir film starring Kathleen Turner and William Hurt, basically a remake of "Double Indemnity" with Barbara Stanwyck and Fred MacMurray; also available at KCPL). We showed the original movies in May and are screening the reimagined films in June.

June 4: "Murder on the Orient Express" (PG-13) at 3:15
June 18: "Body Heat" (R) at 3:15

Retro Mystery Movies are part of the "Christie with Christy: Movies from the Golden Age of Mystery and Classic Film Noir/Neo-Noir" series. We show movies on the first Thursday of every month based on mystery novels from the 1930s-1950s (known as the "Golden Age of Mystery") and screen movies on the third Thursday of every month from the tradition of classic film noir and more contemporary neo-noir where even the shadows on the screen become a character.
