We honored Mother's Day at our monthly support group, bringing comfort to those who have been without their loved ones and those experiencing their first Mother's Day without their loved ones, finding support in what we shared and celebrating the bond of a mother's love.

Today, KC Mothers in Charge launched our new Not Forgotten program.

One of the hardest realities families face after losing a loved one to violence is what happens after the first few weeks. The calls slow down. The visitors stop coming. The world moves forward.

But their grief doesn’t stop.

Through Not Forgotten, we will reconnect with families months after their loss through outreach, home visits, support services, and continued emotional support, because healing doesn’t end after the funeral.

If you believe families impacted by violence deserve long-term care, hope, and healing, we invite you to stand beside us. Your support makes this work possible.

When a homicide happens in Kansas City, we respond. We sit with families in living rooms, hospital waiting areas, funeral homes, and courtrooms. We help connect them to counseling, support groups, meals, resources, and people who understand their pain.

And long after the news cameras leave, we continue to walk beside them.

This Mother’s Day, we honor the strength of every mother carrying loss, every grandmother raising grandchildren after tragedy, and every family fighting to heal.

If you would like to honor a mother in your life this weekend, we invite you to make a gift in her honor to support families impacted by homicide.

Your support helps ensure that no mother has to face this journey alone.

What a powerful week it's been honoring National Crime Victims' Week, as we shared our stories with over 500 individuals at Western Reception Diagnostic Correctional Center, Crossroads Correctional Center, and Chillicothe Correctional Center - inspiring hope and positive change, one conversation at a time, with a shared goal of creating 'No more victims'. “Listen. Act.Advocate. Protect victims, serve community.”
