📣 A New Opportunity for Youth Voice in Scouts BSA

Scouts BSA is excited to announce the next step in gathering youth feedback: the Scouts BSA SPL Summit.

Building on the foundation established by the National Youth Council, the SPL Summit will bring together Senior Patrol Leaders from troops across the country to share ideas, provide feedback, and help strengthen the program for Scouts everywhere.

The goal is simple: listen to the youth leaders who experience Scouts BSA every week and ensure their voices help shape the future of the program.

More information—including participation details and launch plans—will be announced this summer. The SPL Summit officially launches in September 2026.

Congratulations to the Heart of America Council’s Marc Elkins on being honored with the prestigious 2026 Silver Antelope Award!

An Eagle Scout and Mayor of Leawood, KS, Mayor Elkins was recognized in Dallas this week at Scouting America’s National Annual Meeting.

Established in 1942, the Silver Antelope is a distinguished Council Service Territory award that recognizes Scouters of exceptional character whose outstanding service has made a lasting impact on youth across their territory.

This honor highlights Marc’s years of exceptional service to Scouting and our council where he continues to provide vital leadership as a member of the board of directors and executive committee. Please help us congratulate Marc for this tremendous honor!

This Memorial Day, we are looking for members of scouting organizations to lay 441 wreaths at the 2026 Memorial Day ceremony on Monday, May 25 – one for each of the 441 Kansas Citians who died in the Great War.

All scouting organizations (all affiliations and ages) are invited to register to participate in this civic event during the Museum and Memorial's Centennial year.
