Olathe Advisory Board Member Spotlight: Karen Pritchard 💙

We’re proud to spotlight Karen Pritchard, a member of our Olathe Advisory Board who brings a passion for building connections and creating opportunities both professionally and in the community.

After 18 years in residential construction, Karen joined Icon Structures in 2025, where she works in Business Development, building relationships and creating new opportunities as the company expands its presence in Kansas City.

Outside of work, Karen shares her love of cycling by helping young women get involved in gravel cycling and mountain biking through coaching, group rides, and access to bikes. In addition to the Olathe Advisory Board, she is also involved with the Be Good Foundation, which helps create opportunities for young women in cycling.

Thank you, Karen, for bringing your energy, experience, and commitment to youth to the Olathe Advisory Board!

A Great Start to the School Year!

School is back in session, and our Before & After School Program is officially underway at the Thornberry Unit! But before welcoming Club members back, our Thornberry Unit spent the weekend helping families get ready for the year ahead.

In partnership with Cornell Ellis and Brothers Liberating Our Communities (BLOC), along with Genesis School, the Clubs hosted a Back-to-School event that brought families and community partners together for a day that felt like one big family reunion.

Families received free physicals and vision screenings, haircuts, food, community resources, and backpacks filled with school supplies. And there was plenty of fun, too - live music, a drill team, horseback riding, a petting zoo, face painting, a bounce house, and more!

A huge thank you to Lillian Carter, Target, all of the vendors, community partners, and volunteers who helped make the day possible. 💙
