The Distributive Property of Multiplication Surgery Center was open yesterday in Room 215!

Ms. Peters's third graders suited up as surgeons to tackle challenging multiplication problems, using the distributive property to break larger equations into smaller, more manageable parts.

Through creative, hands-on experiences like this, our students are building the confidence and problem-solving skills to take on new challenges!

This week, Danielle Dispenza from Show Me KC Schools visited with our 8th graders to help them learn the basics of high school and explore their options. Students were encouraged to talk with their families, attend the upcoming City School Fair, and take an active role in finding a school that fits their unique interests, strengths, and goals.

At Midtown, we believe students grow as leaders when they learn to take ownership of their choices and their futures. We're grateful to Danielle and Show Me KC Schools for helping our students feel informed, empowered, and ready to take their next steps!

Ms. Kriefall, our middle school counselor, has been hard at work organizing fantastic high school shadow days, presentations, and other opportunities to help prepare our 8th graders for the transition to high school. Yesterday a group of interested students visited Cristo Rey KC High School next door, learning all about their program!

Small changes can make a big difference! We’re excited about the addition of a new fence around our playground, providing more privacy and security for our students while giving this outdoor space an updated look. Most importantly, it helps create a safer, more comfortable space for our students to play and spend time outside.

It's hard to believe, but today is already the final day of the first quarter! Our students have been working hard to end the quarter strong. Conferences are coming up in just a few weeks, so be sure to keep an eye out for a message from your child's teacher so you can sign up for a conference time. Our goal is always 100% participation!
