True Light is indeed a beacon of Light for our world!

The other week when I went shopping for children’s toys, I told my friend, Miss R who works at the store about the mission I was on. And what did she do? She went to grab more toys and together we looked through everything. And then she did something astonishing; she opened up her wallet and gave me all the cash she had on hand because she wanted to contribute to these eight children! I was so touched- she leaned over and gave me a big hug and I just melted and cried.

Bless The Work that True Light does; for lives are enriched and changed and we who are affiliated with True Light are so enriched !

Yesterday, I went back to the place I shop and I saw Miss R. She wanted to know how the children liked the toys- so I told her how they loved everything! And you know what she did? She wrote down her name and phone number and she gave it to me. Because she wants to be included in the next gift of giving! Isn’t that so wonderful?

Like Leonard Nimoy said: ā€œ When I can take, I am grateful and when I give, I am blessedā€. May we all be both grateful and blessed, always!

The number 9 ( nine) is spiritually associated with compassion, among many other rich, wonderful qualities.

Nine came to True Light in the form of a lovely woman with eight beautiful children. I was at the Resource Center when I was told that this houseless family was staying at the Shelter. I was told they had no toys. No toys? How were the children spending their time? I remembered from my College Years that Child Development Specialist, Jean Piaget, said, ā€œ Play is the work of children ā€œ. Children learn and develop through play. Sandie helped me make a list and I went shopping for toys.

Imagine my sheer delight, when I brought my donations Pat called over to E station to please send the family over. It was such a pleasure meeting this family of beautifully well behaved children and their mom. Their eyes lit up at seeing the toys ! We all encouraged the children to take three toys each. They were so excited and they so enjoyed going through the box to find their own special treasures. Pastor Alice also made sure that the year old twins got toys too. The beautiful Miss S got down on her knees and made certain every child had three toys. Lunch was being served so the family needed to get back to the Shelter to eat! After they left, I think all of us felt so blessed to be able to bring some joy to this beautiful family.

Don’t forget your numbers when you commune with God. There is a blessing in everything!
