WELL - Kansas City

WELL - Kansas City WELL helps the homeless find housing. "Wholly Embracing Life Lessons " servicing, guiding, developing and creating lessons for both men & women. Ms. Mr.

WELL helps meet the needs of homeless and poverty-stricken families, providing wrap-around services by working with other service providers. WELL develops relationships with people affected by poverty, striving to understand each individual's needs and to give hope for a better tomorrow. Housing is only one component. Our collaboration with other service providers helps our clients find employment

, return to school, seek counseling, attend life skills meetings, and reconnect with the communities in which they live. Accountability is key to our clients' success. Caseworkers make home visits to clients on a monthly basis for one year providing support and encouragement. WELL's deeply individualized approach accounts for our high success rate in helping people break the cycle of poverty and homelessness. WELL has housed over 400 clients since 2013, and 95% of these clients are now self-sufficient! WELL needs greater resources to impact even more people whose lives have been stricken by poverty. We want to help even more people in the Kansas City area. Nadine Farris is the Executive Director of WELL with a background in health and fitness. Farris has been a public speaker and advocate in the community for over 25 years. Her longevity in the community has made her well known among the clients WELL serves. Qayyim Durant, the Outreach Coordinator, has almost 20 years of experience working with the homeless community. Durant has strong personal community contacts and extensive knowledge of organizations that can assist the WELL program's clientele in becoming self-sufficient. Durant has been given awards from various organizations for his hard work in the homeless community throughout the greater Kansas City, Missouri area. Our Organization WELL Inc. has housed homeless individuals who have aged out of foster care.

Phillip Hurd aged out of Foster Care. We housed him and he remains self sufficient and employed.

Many individuals aging out of Foster Care end up in homeless shelters.

The organization providing the housing has since made headlines.
