Certain services in our clinic are currently suspended, including sports physicals and other physical exams. We apologize for the inconvenience. We are working on solutions to resume these services, and we will share updates when they are available again. Our other clinical services are still available now, including childhood immunizations.

Full list of services that are temporarily unavailable:
• Physical exams, including sports and camp physicals and pre-employment physicals
• Limited Primary Care: treatment for common health concerns, including skin symptoms (rash, small wounds, bug bites, etc.), ear, nose, and throat symptoms, and other common conditions, such as pink eye and UTIs
• Well-woman exams*
• Pap smears*
• Colposcopies* (exams that use a special magnifying device to look at the cervix; this may be done if Pap smear results are abnormal)
• Placement of birth control implants*
• Placement of intrauterine devices (IUDs)*

*Other Family Planning services and birth control options remain available.

The rest of our clinical services are still available, including Laboratory, Immunizations, STI Services, TB Testing, and more.

Join us Tuesday, August 11, from 9:30 AM to 12:30 PM, for the next orientation session for prospective new child care providers.

If you're interested in starting a home child care program based in Wyandotte County, call our Child Care Licensing program at (913) 573-6702 to sign up for an orientation session. There is a $15 registration fee.

We will be at the Turner School District Back to School Bash later today!

Health Department nurses will provide free childhood immunizations for school-age children who qualify for the Vaccines for Children (VFC) program. VFC eligibility: American Indian or Alaska Native, Medicaid-eligible, uninsured, or underinsured (for individuals whose insurance does not cover childhood immunizations). Please bring your child’s vaccination record. If you have an immunization letter from your school, please bring that as well.

🌟 THIS WEDNESDAY! Join us for Turner Back to School Bash at Turner High School from 4:00 - 6:30!

- School supplies from Turner Recreation Commission and Turner Library
- Games and activities from our community partners
- Assistance from Turner staff with MyRideK12, free/reduced meal applications, OLR/Parent Acknowledgements, and more
- Required childhood immunizations from the Wyandotte County Health Department for families who are uninsured, underinsured, or on Kansas Medicaid
- Free open swim at Turner Aquatics Center (4:30 - 7:00)

There's still time to stop by this afternoon before 4pm for "Bee Wise, Immunize" Monday. On the first Monday of the month, we waive the vaccine administration fee for children ages two and younger who qualify for the Vaccines for Children (VFC) Program, so their vaccinations are completely free!

On the first Monday of the month, the Health Department provides free vaccinations for children ages 2 and younger who qualify for the Vaccines for Children Program (vaccine administration fee is waived).

We’ll be at the Wyandotte County Back to School & Health Fair, Saturday, August 1st, 2026, 8AM – 1PM, at HomeField KCK, 9250 State Ave, Kansas City, KS 66112. Free to attend!

Health Department nurses will provide free childhood immunizations for school-age children who qualify for the Vaccines for Children (VFC) program.
