The shirt says it all- STIMMING- it’s not bothering anyone so leave them alone…. They are regulating 💙💙🧩🧩🧩

Stimming can occur in many different ways for autistic people. This can occur vocally, pacing, flapping hands, intense focus and body tensing at an object (including their own hands and feet), visually at objects around them, etc.

Autism awareness month includes teaching other children that if the see a kid doing something they perceive as “odd” to ask questions to learn more before they cast judgement. It could be that child is actually using their special skill to regulate in a stressful environment and maybe your child could learn from them.

No matter what remind other “just let them stim bro” and keep walking or join them 🧩💙

Wear blue, wear red, use 🧩 or ♾️… say acceptance, say awareness… hell, just say something that is kind, encouraging or just stay quiet (keyboard warriors that’s you)

But, this month, of all months, is my beautiful families time to educate those who don’t live this life we live and make other families who do, feel seen, heard and not so alone…..But here’s what matters most from the very start:

Autism is a spectrum—no two individuals experience it the same way.
Awareness is simply knowing autism exists and that it exists in many different ways.
Acceptance is creating spaces where autistic individuals are supported, included, and respected for who they are.

For caregivers, this month is more than a hashtag.
It’s navigating therapies, schools, sensory needs, and advocating daily.
It’s celebrating progress—no matter how small it may look to others.

If you’re wondering how to support:
• Educate your children on autism, so they may show kindness to those who are different than them.
• Be mindful of sensory environments
• Practice patience and flexibility
• Choose inclusion in everyday moments and model it for others to catch onto.

April is a starting point—not the finish line.

Let’s move beyond awareness and into meaningful acceptance. For families such as mine and many others on this earth!

Just WHAT?!?! We barely have time to:
• Sleep
• Eat a full meal
• Sit down without listening for elopement or eating something they shouldn’t
• Catch our breath between therapies

BUT what we do “JUST” make time for regardless is:
• Advocating for them
• Co-Regulate with them
• Show up- anytime, anywhere and in any state of mind. Because we are their safe person so it’s only on us

My Tuesday Morning TED TALK to ALL autism caregivers to give yourself permission to be late!!!

Early intervention was key to my kids progress so far. The beginning was so hard, after the diagnosis. I called it the “A” word for 6 months after…. When I say emotionally accepting a parenting journey you NEVER saw coming is hard I MEAN HARD AF!!! So, when I share content, it’s not just from educational experiences…. I live it right alongside you- if you feel alone, follow now, you’ll never be alone again and also, don’t give up, not on them or yourself!! 💜🧩

You’re not in the autism journey alone…. This week has been NUTS with kids!! Hang in there and always remember- today is not forever 🧩💜

You see in the beginning of our diagnosis (18 months) anywhere that wasn’t his home was highly triggering. I spent a whole summer when he was 2.5 making intentional visits to stores twice a week just to get him used to them…. This was with the help of ABA therapist, our infant and toddler workers. They helped encourage ME to keep going even during the hard outings, they helped me with tips and regulating strategies to use…. These supports for he and I are what I want others to find… and for the to have me in your corner in the meantime!! Reach out today if be HONORED to help you get to a big WIN like this and many more - message me “BIGWIN” to connect today!!
