St. Michael's Veterans Center St. Michael's Veterans Center is working to end homelessness among veterans. We're building a vibrant community that takes care of our neighbors.

Our 24-acre campus provides quality, affordable permanent housing to veterans who are homeless or disabled. Empowering veterans toward healthy reintegration with their families and communities through permanent housing and supportive services.

Thanks to Starbucks partners (employees) and The Starbucks Foundation for recognizing how we are making our communities stronger.

We're excited to continue our work to support veterans in our community with permanent, affordable housing and wraparound services, with help from from The Starbucks Foundation. This grant will help us continue our work to end veteran homelessness in Kansas City.

The St. Michael's Veterans Center community continues to remember and celebrate the extraordinary life of our longtime friend, leader and advocate, Art Fillmore.

Art's impact on St. Michael's and on veterans throughout Kansas City cannot be overstated. His vision and determination helped make our campus possible, and his decades of service changed countless lives.

Some moments mean more than words can express. 💙

During our monthly Harvesters - The Community Food Network food pantry distribution, we had the pleasure of welcoming Kansas City Royals second baseman Michael Massey to St. Michael's Veterans Center!

Michael spent time getting to know our veterans and personally delivered thank-you cards written by Royals fans during this season's Military Appreciation game.

Small gestures can have a lasting impact. Taking the time to listen, share a conversation, and express gratitude reminds our veterans that their service continues to be honored long after they leave the military.

We extend a huge thank you to Michael Massey, the Kansas City Royals, and the The Kansas City Royals Foundation for helping create a memorable day for our veterans. 🇺🇸

Today is National Hire a Veteran Day. 🇺🇸

Each year, approximately 200,000 service members transition from military service to civilian life. Many bring years of leadership experience, technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and the ability to perform under pressure. Yet translating those skills into civilian employment can still be a challenge.

Employment is about more than a paycheck. It provides purpose, stability, connection, and opportunity.

At St. Michael's Veterans Center, we see firsthand how housing, supportive services, and meaningful employment work together to help veterans build strong futures.

Today, we encourage employers to look beyond a résumé and recognize the value veterans bring to the workplace. Hiring a veteran isn't simply a way to fill an open position. It's an investment in proven leadership, dedication, and mission-focused talent.
