Did you know our trails close depending on conditions?
Here is an easy way to check the status of not only Kessler park, but all the rad trails urbantrailco builds and maintains in the Kansas city metro.

Trails are currently closed but expected to be good soon.
If you leave a mark, please leave the trail.

More trail, less honeysuckle and lots more fun! Almost complete!

If you have seen some honeysuckle clearing, on the north side of the road, at the east end of Gladstone blvd. That's us!!!
We're nearing completion of Indian mound trails upper green line. Bringing the trail up to the road for the last section. This will connect with the west end of the existing trail at the trail head.
Now we all have an option to tour the whole loop or exit out and take the sidewalk back.

The trail gnomes are working hard, out on Indian mound trail.
Over two years ago, trail lines were scouted according to the landscape, views and closeness to some of the larger trees.
Phase one of upper green line, is 95% complete and open.
Phase two is well underway!!!
Over the last three workdays, we've managed to build 50yds of single-track, each workday!
Not to mention taking out invasives, on each side of the trail, to liberate native plants and trees.
This is some of the smoothest forest floor we've seen here at the park.
When the upper green line is complete, it will turn Indian mound into a loop.
We aim to be complete by spring-early summer 2023.
Here are some pictures of Phase two. Quite the before and after! There's a beautiful maple tree forest in this area! 😍

Trimming season has begun! We've started on the mid west end. Cliff top trail (by the reservoir) is complete today.
We anticipate Loziers lane and disc golf run complete by this weekend.
There's been a lot of trash dumped again, help us help the park. If you see something please report it!
Come see the wide open trail, grab a small bag to collect trash while you hike. We all win.
Did you know.
Trimming requires both sides of trail, which means today's stewards and volunteers cleared two miles!

More progress on the upper Indian mound green line. New feature coming! Dual log ride into another log ride.

A big cluster trio of old red oaks, too deteriorated to tell the variety, all fell three different ways. We'll be making use of two, out of the three massive fallen old timers.
They're still very solid and will make a neat feature, for years to come.

We've been quietly working away, at problems areas and new trail the last season.
