EMT CLASS STARTING SOON!
The Inter City Fire Protection District will host its next EMT class from October 5, 2026, through February 3, 2027. Seating is limited, so applicants are encouraged to submit their application and deposit as soon as possible to reserve a seat.

Schedule
Classes will be held every Monday and Wednesday from 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.

Cost and Deposit
The cost of the class is $1,400, which includes a $100 non-refundable deposit. The deposit must be submitted with your application and will be applied toward the total cost of the class.
The deposit must be paid by cashier’s check or money order. Cash will not be accepted.

How to Apply
Applications are available on our website at inter-city-fpd.org under the Training tab.
Applications may be turned in at the fire station located at 1702 Blue Ridge Blvd., Blue Summit, MO 64126.

Inter City EMS crews were busy throughout the night. Another shooting was reported in the 2100 block of Ashland Ave. EMS transported one victim with life threatening injuries. If you have any information about the shooting contact the Jackson County Missouri Sheriff’s Office.

Inter City Fire crews responded to Truman & 13th on a fire in the roadway. Crews arrived on scene and quickly put the fire out. 2300 hours

Inter City Fire crews responded to a brush fire in the area of 1600 Vincil Ave KCMO at about 2140 hours. The fire was quickly extinguished and crews reported no injuries.

Avoid East bound Truman Road & Vincil Ave. Rollover involving two cars. Roadway is closed.

West bound Truman Road & Vincil Ave in Blue Summit Mo. (Kansas City) temporarily shut down due to an accident. Driver of the Brown Truck left the area on foot. If you know the owner or driver contact the Jackson County Sheriffs Office. The other driver was taken to a local hospital.
