Kansas City National Security Campus KCNSC is a diverse, engineering and manufacturing facility serving the NNSA Contract oversight is provided by the NNSA Kansas City Field Office.

Located in Kansas City, MO, the Kansas City National Security Campus is one of the nation’s foremost engineering and manufacturing organizations serving the nuclear security enterprise and other government agencies. Recently, KCNSC welcomed Jim McConnell, National Nuclear Security Administration Associate Principal Deputy Administrator. McConnell toured the progress on the Kansas City Non-Nuclear Expansion Transformation (KC NExT) project, the newest expansion of KCNSC’s campus to meet the increased production requirements for modernization.

Congratulations to Jeff Shoulta, National Nuclear Security Administration Kansas City Field Office Manager, on celebrating 39 years of dedicated federal service. Shoulta is the recipient of the NNSA Administrator’s Gold Award, the highest honorary award granted by NNSA. Jim McConnell, NNSA Associate Principal Deputy Administrator, presented the award to Shoulta in recognition of his many years of exceptional leadership and contributions to NNSA, DOE and the nation.

It showed that while a straight line may be the shortest distance between two points, it isn’t always the fastest. The device included a laser — one of the first used in the Kansas City area.

KCNSC volunteers took over Harvesters - The Community Food Network for a full day of service! A total of 190 volunteers spent 380 total hours packaging 72 pallets of food, including apples, potatoes and cereal. KCNSC welcomed interns from Air Force Global Strike Command (AFGSC) last week. AFGSC interns participate in a multi-year program that provides hands-on learning to become strategic leaders within the nuclear enterprise for the armed forces. On their visit to KCNSC, AFGSC interns learned about the important work KCNSC does for the mission. Interns received an overview of the nuclear weapons program and a tour of our advanced manufacturing facility.
