One of the most endearing qualities of our miniature train is its ability to transcend our differences and unite us in the same shared experience.

That mile-long train ride, may not seem like a big deal but we believe it's truly an exceptional experience. For just a moment it suspends differences in age, gender, nationality, religion, political affiliations, uniting everyone in a shared celebration of joy and excitement.

Whether you're 5 years fun like Roane who visited us all the way from Kentucky with her stylish shades or 95 years young, like our friend Francesco, and the lively crew he came with - during that 10-minute journey, every rider gets to experience what it's like to be on an adventure together. From reveling in the joy of the journey and eagerly anticipating the next turn, to collectively experiencing the excitement echoing through the tunnel. We all get to feel that nostalgic child-like thrill again. And we think that's something special.

If you or anyone you know has a military jeep, hummer, ambulance, motorcycle, tank, amphibious ship, an Oshkosh Striker or Black Hawk laying around 😅 we'd love to chat!

Are you ready for an incredible day filled with puppy kisses, belly rubs & limitless love? We're so excited for this Saturday's Dog Days of Summer - 🐕Waggin' tails & 🚂Ridin' the rails

As if there wasn't already an insane amount of nose boops to anticipate, we recently confirmed that Barkin Dogs Rescue will be bringing these adorable dogs in the video along with them!

Like us, Barkin Dogs Rescue shares our commitment to making a difference in our community as a non-profit volunteer-run organization. They specialize in matching herding-type breeds, like Australian Shepherds and Border Collies, to their forever homes. But their love for dogs extends to all breeds which is evident when scrolling through their list of available canine companions. From Bluetick Coonhounds to Blue Heelers, Great Pyrenees to petite Pomeranians, Barkin Dogs Rescue has an array of furry friends ready to be perfectly matched to their forever home.

Beyond adoption, Barkin Dogs Rescue is also a lifeline for dogs in critical condition needing emergency vet care. Their recent intervention for a litter of puppies facing life-threatening seizures and other serious health issues is a testament to their unwavering commitment to help Kansas City's canines in need.

We totally understand if adoption just isn't in the cards for your household. If that's the case, please consider donating to support their mission, as every single cent counts in the lives of these dogs. With a community built on generosity, compassion, and a shared love for dogs (and trains 😉), we know that help and homes for these precious pooches is right on track! Have you visited us this summer and taken advantage of our new digital payment system? If so, what did you think? Pretty convenient, huh?!

Over the past few years we've received a lot of feedback from our guests that our previous "cash only" policy was not favored. So last May we began a trial run of a new payment system. Admittedly, there was a bit of a learning curve but once we got the hang of it, we learned quickly that many guests opted for that payment choice over cash.

A lot went in to making that POS system possible and Media Madnez was pivotal in that process. First, hard wiring was required to ensure that everyone's data remained safe. That hard wiring also allowed us to avoid disruptions often experienced by other systems that utilize wifi instead. Second, was reaching out to our current bank to discuss options, including payments bring directly deposited. The convenience of not having to transfer funds over ourselves was a huge win. But the hardest part came in regards to our own club, which was pretty torn on adapting to the new tech. Once they got over the initial annoyance of changing the way "things have always been done," they came around.

That said, after seeing just how successful it was for both us, and our patrons, we're proud to announce that at our August members' meeting it was unanimously voted that we continue using the system from here on out. 🎉 (it's the little things! 😂)

So next time you come by, and find yourself a little short on cash, you won't have to leave with crying kids to find an atm. It's all part of our Expansion Celebration year where we're adding more thsn just new track, it's about the entire experience. And we hope that these small improvements help you and your family to have a better experience while you're guests here.

Thanks to everyone who came out to our 2nd Annual 🚂Rails 🏎Rides & ☀️Summer Vibes Corvette Cruise-In event yesterday. It's always a good time with our friends from the Corvette Club of Kansas City.

This year we added 1st, 2nd & 3rd place ribbons to the event. The "kids' choice" judging criteria was VERY intense. 😂 We asked several kids to tell us what their picks were and a lovely yellow Corvette won 1st place because it was "yellow like Pikachu." (Cartoon character)
2nd place was awarded to a blue corvette with red seats and 3rd to a black convertible Corvette that was described as looking like a "batmobile" and a "transformer."

THIS Saturday, 10am to 2pm, Kansas City Northern Miniature Railroad hosts our second annual: Rails, Rides & Summer Vibes with our friends at Kansas City Corvette Club. 🛤🏎💨☀️

Corvette cruise-in & show is a free event held on the lawn at KCNMRR.
Train rides are just $2 per person.
The newly repaired expansion is now open, so swing on by to check out these sweet rides & ride the sweet rails!
