You are invited to a RoosForMentalHealth Lunch-n-Learn via Zoom about Su***de Awareness & Prevention facilitated by Kathryn Brewer, Visiting Assistant Professor in Counseling and Counseling Psychology. In this session, we will discuss warning signs, common contributing issues, and some of the myths related to su***de. You will also learn steps and strategies to help someone who is thinking about su***de. This program is for students, staff, and faculty.

When: Monday, Sept 28, 2020 12:00-1:00 PM (Central Time)

Register in advance for this meeting at https://umsystem.zoom.us/meeting/register/tJMufuiprzsiGN0x0g_Yo8giv7RjVe61Tksf. After registering, you will receive a confirmation email containing information about joining the meeting.

This Lunch-n-Learn is the first of many to come! RoosForMentalHealth will be offering at least one program per month focused on various mental health and wellness topics. Save these dates coming up in October for Domestic, Dating, and Intimate Partner Violence Awareness and Prevention month…

On October 14that 11:00 will be a session exploring the impact of trauma on a survivor/victim, how to provide support, and how to thoughtfully respond to disclosures.

Then on October 30th at 1:00 is a session defining what makes a relationship healthy, unhealthy, and abusive. And learning how to identify your needs and wants in a relationship, establish healthy boundaries, and communicate effectively.

We will be recording all RoosForMentalHealth Lunch-n-Learns, so don’t worry if you aren’t able to attend during the scheduled times. All recordings will be made available on our webpage within a few days of the event. Check out our webpage at https://info.umkc.edu/roosformentalhealth/.
