Mid-America Regional Council

Mid-America Regional Council KC Metro's association of city and county governments and metropolitan planning organization. Some issues reach across the boundaries of individual communities.

Often they can only be addressed by working together. The Mid-America Regional Council promotes regional cooperation and develops innovative solutions. We help create a community people are proud to call home. MARC is a nonprofit association of city and county governments and the metropolitan planning organization for the bistate Kansas City region. Governed by a board of local elected officials,

we serve nine counties and 119 cities. We provide a forum for the region to work together to advance social, economic and environmental progress. MARC is funded by federal, state and private grants, local contributions and earned income. A major portion of our budget is passed through to local governments and other agencies for programs and services. If you are looking for more information about MARC, please visit http://marc.org.

Speeding or weaving through traffic won’t save you time — it puts everyone at risk.
Calm down, slow down and stop speeding before it stops you.
The WORLD is here, and our goal, is to get you to your destination safe.

Thanks to everyone who stopped by the e-bike petting zoo this weekend at the Northeast Arts Annual Chalk Walk event.
Christina Baanders-Decker from Midwest Cyclery LLC joined us with an acoustic bike, electric bike, and electric urban arrow bike.
E-bike owners had a chance to share their bike with others for test rides, answer questions and provide honest feedback on their ownership experience.
Those interested in E-bikes got to ask questions, test ride bikes and learn more about the experience of owning an e-bike in the Kansas City region.

Help us reimagine affordable, age-friendly housing for older adults!

MARC and the R.L Mace Universal Design Institute are excited to announce the Home Plus One accessory dwelling unit (ADU) design competition. Working to incorporate universal design principles, the competition invites architects, builders and students to submit innovative ADU designs that help older adults age in place safely, stay connected with caregivers and maintain independence.

ADUs, which are small-scale homes built on the same property as a primary residence, are emerging as an ideal, affordable option for older adults and those with mobility challenges and other disabilities.

Want to learn more? Join us on June 24 from 9-10 a.m. for a virtual kickoff event - https://ow.ly/mPli50Z1KSc We’ll cover the competition timeline, eligibility, design specifications, how to register and submit designs, and ways for partners to get involved!

Huge thanks to our supporters, AARP Kansas, AARP Missouri and the William J. Brace Charitable Trust!
