Got a little hydrant training in last eve. We updated mapping of hydrant locations in the township and in our mutual aid communities. Practiced various hook-ups due to the variety/age of hydrants in the first due.

Busy day yesterday in the Tumbling Run area of the township for us volunteers. Started off with a motorcycle accident late afternoon. Unfortunately, the operator lost his life. Then storms came through later in the evening requiring response to trees down, a pole fire, transformers blowing, and a barn and garage destroyed with a roof and other debris on the roadway.

Today is International Firefighters’ Day. It’s a good time for us to express our appreciation to all who support our efforts to keep our community safe. Also, a big Thank You to our surrounding community Firefighters, with whom we work closely when responding to calls. Be safe out there.

7 calls for service last week. We volunteers don't always have the proper attire on when summoned to respond to an emergency. Sometimes we're eating dinner, sometimes we're sleeping, sometimes we're out and about doing this and that.

Hello, Kaskans. This is a friendly reminder about the Schuylkill Valley History Presentation that’s scheduled for this Sunday from 11AM to 3PM. The focus will be on our nearby towns, specifically the area that encompasses the stretch from Cumbola to Brockton. This event is free to attend and people are excited to learn more about our area. We hope to see you Sunday at the newly remodeled Blythe Township Civic Center.
