For the last several days God had been putting it on our hearts to be out in the streets this Easter Sunday.

I wish I had the words to completely describe all that God did in the time we were out doing Prayer & Tacos, but it was nothing short of a miracle filled with divine appointments. One of these was evident when we met Jak, of the Shoeboxx Project, who had no idea why he was downtown today,but as he drove, he prayed that God would cross his path with people to do life and ministry with.... somehow he found us and it brought us all to tears.

So , with our new partner, we found ourselves in the streets of downtown Houston listening to people’s stories, praying for them and each other and shared the news of the resurrection of Christ with our homeless brothers and sisters.

All God wanted us to do was say “yes, I will go where you send me.”

“Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.””

This year Easter Sunday looks very different for my team and I. Of course we wanted to be at Easter service with our family and friends but for some reason our hearts were led to be out in the streets

While it may be unconventional and outside of our norm, I was reminded that this is exactly how Jesus operated....being counter cultural to make sure that so many would have the opportunity to encounter his love.

Pray for us on our journey today as we hold on to faith that God will show up in a mighty and tangible way.... even if it’s just for “the one”

He is Risen. He is Risen Indeed!

Today our team and Dream Movement Katy
set out for the streets of Katy/Houston and we found ourselves closer to home this time around ....and God definitely had a reason for keeping us here! Here’s what we learned:

1. Being challenged out of our comfort zones and daily routine helps us to grow and see beyond ourselves. Beyond the “me” mentality

2. Our ability to spread God’s word is not defined by comparison to how well others do this but our willingness to be used by Him.

3. We learned that evangelism doesn’t look like forcing ones beliefs onto another but can be taking the time to be relational: Have a conversation, listen and showing someone that they do matter in this world. We watched how God organically took that aspect and led us to the opportunities to pray over someone or at least “plant the seed” 🌱 that leads to Christ.

By faith there are miracles, so we won’t stop now! We hope that the posts on this page encourage you to go out and do the same!

This week practice putting love into action by how you treat others.

Victory Kitchen is back at it with Prayer & Tacos!

Woke up early, made tacos and we hit the streets of Houston once again.

It was awesome to take a step back this time and watch my team love on these people on the streets.

What I’m learning is that street ministries most of the time isn’t me trying to force my own beliefs but simply letting someone know that people do care... that they are not alone. A simple conversation helped 1 person see that life didn’t have to end today and that there is hope and possibilities in tomorrow....

The crazy thing is we set out to bless others but learn so much from them instead.

Street Ministry Sundays! Victory Kitchen and Dream Movement Katy made their way to the streets of Houston with breakfast and the news of God’s love.

We sat out to serve, love and encourage others but so many of our street friends encouraged us in return. Please be in prayer for our brothers and sisters living on the streets

Today we got the privilege of serving dinner to our street friends in support of our partner Hope Impacts!

We whipped up my favorite meal: BBQ chicken, potato salad, baked beans with corn bread! Of course you can’t forget Rice Krispies for dessert!

Thank you to all of the volunteers, partners and donors. Because of your generosity we were not only able to serve food which nourishes the body.. but also represent hope...which in turn nourishes the soul.

Today we assembled 160 care packages to distribute to the homeless community during our Prayer and Tacos Street Ministries and to share with our friends at Hope Impacts.

On Friday, Victory Kitchen was able to partner with Dream Movement Katy and Friends of Sundown to provide meals for Hurricane Laura evacuees temporarily residing in Houston.

Keep Going - The Movement for the bags and masks for our Prayer & Tacos street ministries!

We are extremely grateful for our volunteers, community members and partners who helped make this drive a success so that we can better serve the homeless community.

We will be collecting donations in person at Sundown Elementary on September 27 11am-1pm during Dream Movement Katy ‘s outdoor prayer and worship gathering!
