Discussions on roundabouts are always engaging! The most common error is the outside lane driver attempting to continue left around the circle. The outside lane may only take the first right or continue straight. Only the inside lane may continue around and they also have the option to go straight.

Thank you, Amber, for all you do for Fort Bend County! Truly one of the heroes most will never meet.

In honor of Women’s History Month, we are recognizing Amber Mason of Fort Bend County Sheriff’s Office. One of her most memorable calls – “I will always remember a girl calling 9-1-1 with a low battery who was in a car with a subject who had sexually assaulted her and wouldn't let her get out of the car. He later chased her around on foot, and I was able to help her stay away and guide police to her before he found her again. I thought that could be anyone, my sister, anyone's sister or friend in that position. Women need to protect women.

She wants the public to know that 9-1-1 is not like on television. “When they call it goes to their local department, not nationwide, and we do really want to help you.” #womenshistorymonth

Enjoy this beautiful day today? Well, so did our local wildlife! Alligators are native to our area and are in most bodies of water. They are naturally scared of humans so if you leave them alone, they’ll leave you alone. Please teach your kids this along with the guidance to never throw anything at them and to never feed them.

If you leave early in the morning, use caution on the high flyovers at 10/99 and 99/1093. We’re not officially in the advisory area, but cold air doesn’t stop at the county line.

A Winter Weather Advisory is now in effect across the NW portions of SE Texas. Periods of light freezing rain and drizzle may produce ice accumulations of 0.05" or less through tomorrow morning. Exercise caution if traveling on bridges or elevated roadways. #txwx #bcswx #houwx

It’s trail ride time all around Houston as the rides head toward Memorial Park for next Saturday’s rodeo parade. If you’d like to take the kids to see them Sunday, the Valley Lodge Trail Ride (pictured) will be taking their lunch break at Anthonie’s in Simonton. VLTR Trail Boss Jim Hubbard asked we share that “kids are always welcome” at their stops.

PRESS RELEASE

The Fort Bend County Sheriff’s Office, in collaboration with Fort Bend County Precinct 1 Commissioner Vincent Morales and Fort Bend County Precinct 1 Constable’s Office Constable Chad Norvell, will host a formal Dedication Ceremony at the new Caleb Rule Public Safety Annex on Monday, Feb. 21, 2022, at 10:30 a.m. located at 6561 Flewellen Way, Fulshear, Texas 77441. The public is invited.

Fort Bend County Sheriff Eric Fagan, Sheriff’s deputies, and county dignitaries will attend the event and unveil the FBCSO’s newest substation which will better serve Fort Bend County citizens in the Fulshear, Katy, and Simonton communities. This new annex houses Fort Bend County Sheriff's Office deputies, and provides space for the Fort Bend County Fire Marshal's Office and the Environmental Health Department.

The 16,800-square-foot facility was named in honor of Fort Bend County Precinct 4 Deputy Constable Caleb Rule, who was fatally wounded in a friendly-fire incident in May 2020.

In addition to housing the Sheriff's Office and the Fire Marshal’s Office, the space includes an Emergency Command Conference room. The Sheriff’s Office is the primary user of the building, with criminal investigation offices and briefing, touchdown and support spaces for patrol offices.

The site includes a parking lot, vehicle fuel stations for patrol cars, and a helipad to support the Sheriff’s air operations.

“Our patrol deputies and criminal investigators will be closer to west Fort Bend County neighborhoods,” said Sheriff Eric Fagan. “We hope to work closer with the communities to more efficiently address crime problems and concerns.”

‼️Donations Needed‼️

With the large number of dogs we’ve been housing in shelter, we’ve found ourselves short on wet dog food.

We’d happily accept any and all donations of canned dog food - were not picky in the size or brand! We’re especially in need of adult and senior canned food, but could always use more puppy food as well.

Please consider donating! Donations can be delivered / dropped off to the shelter at 1210 Blume Rd Rosenberg Tx 77471.

Thank you in advance!
