On Saturday December 18 2021, coordinating with wreath-laying ceremonies at Arlington National Cemetery and at more than 2,500 additional locations in all 50 U.S. states, at sea and abroad, we held our Wreaths Across America ceremony honoring the veterans buried in Katy Magnolia Cemetery here in Katy Texas. Organized by The American Legion Post 164 and American Legion Auxiliary Unit 164, wreaths were laid on over 500 veterans' graves.

A big thank you to everyone who sponsored a wreath and who attended, volunteered and conducted the ceremony. We had a large crowd despite the threat of thunder storms and rain, which held off until the last moments of the clean up!

Aspire! How to Create Your Own Reality and Alter Your DNA, Frank McKinney's 7th Bestseller!

Another one of my heroes comes to Houston! Come meet Frank McKinney tomorrow morning in Katy. Please share this now!
WHO: Author and Philanthropist Frank McKinney
WHAT: Book Tour + Homeless Shelter/Soup Kitchen Talk + Giveaways
WHEN: November 18, 2021, 10 am
WHERE: Katy Christian Ministries, 5504 First Street. Katy TX 77493
CONTACT: Leslie Barrett, [email protected], (325)370-1465
https://youtu.be/f-GdswBXMYA
Philanthropist and author Frank McKinney will be stopping at Katy Christian Ministries in Katy on his 20-city, 6000-mile book tour for ASPIRE! How to Create Your Own Reality and Alter Your DNA, which reveals real-life stories from McKinney’s interactions with 10,000+ homeless, billionaires, and everything in between; in addition to his own mind-blowing experiences. Ultimately, the book is about reinvention. It’s about never settling for who we are born to be, or even what we think we’re capable of, and instead, breaking free of that limited mindset to create a new reality on our own terms.
Instead of stopping at the more typical tour stops of bookstores and book clubs, McKinney will be stopping at homeless shelters, soup kitchens, women’s shelters, juvenile detention centers, veterans hospitals, etc. to share his aspirational message, make donations, and give away prizes to the guests in attendance.
More about the book and tour. All proceeds from the sale of ASPIRE! will benefit Caring House Project Foundation.
Watch the Frank McKinney sizzle reel!

Our Story

The American Legion was chartered and incorporated by Congress in 1919 as a patriotic veterans organization devoted to mutual helpfulness. It is the nation’s largest wartime veterans service organization, committed to mentoring youth and sponsorship of wholesome programs in our communities, advocating patriotism and honor, promoting strong national security, and continued devotion to our fellow service members and veterans. Hundreds of local American Legion programs and activities strengthen the nation one community at a time. An individual is eligible for membership in The American Legion only if the individual:

  • Has served in the Armed Forces of the United States at any time during the period of April 6, 1917, through November 11, 1918; or any time after December 7, 1941 through to the present day;

  • or a government associated with the United States Government during a period or time referred to above and was a citizen of the United States when the individual entered that service;

  • was honorably discharged or separated from that service or continues to serve honorably during or after that period or time.

  • Other Katy government services

    A Viet Nam Vet receives a wheelchair from Post 164...this us what we do
    This us what we do... Vietnam USMC Sgt. Bruce Livine was in need of a wheelchair. Post 164 was able to provide Mr. Living with a chair with no expense to him. We also gave him gratitude and thanks for being an Areologist predicting the weather in Vietnam. With a special shout out to Ms. Jody P. For connecting us with Mr. Livine, allowing us a chance to support our fellow veterans. Another shout out to all of you who contribute the American Legions posts throughout America. Your generous giving allows us to help provide for the needs of Veterans, their spouses and children. Mr. Livine responded with a hardy oorah upon test driving his chair.
