EVERY DROP COUNTS, PLEASE CONSERVE!
The City of Katy needs your “HELP” with conserving water. The drought conditions are getting to a critical stage with not getting any substantial rainfall since the end of May.
We are needing HOAs, commercial businesses, and residents to please reduce irrigating, as water reports are showing that the majority usage of water is from irrigation.
The City is asking for everyone to participate in conserving water, it will take everyone to make a difference!

City Hall and Municipal Court will remain closed on Thursday, February 18th due to inclement weather. Texas Pride will be picking up GARBAGE ONLY starting tomorrow Thursday, February 18th. No recycling or heavy trash will be picked up at this time.
We ask that all residents put your GARBAGE BINS ONLY by the curb by 7AM tomorrow, (Thursday) morning. Texas Pride will start by picking up Monday’s route and then transition to Tuesday’s route pickup and then lastly Wednesday’s route. On Friday, February 19th, and Saturday, February 20th they will continue where they left off until all of the City has had their regular garbage picked up.

We cannot stress enough how dangerous this winter storm may become this evening. We urge everyone that does not have an absolute need to travel to STAY HOME and off the roads. Before going out, be sure to check road conditions at www.drivetexas.org.
Protect the Four 'P's: People, Pets, Pipes, and Plants: Keep warm by dressing in layers and check on your elderly family and neighbors. Bring your pets inside! Bring plants inside or cover them. Cover pipes and drip faucets to prevent them from freezing.
WATER OUTAGE: If you are experiencing broken or leaking pipes at your home, turn your water off at your personal shut-off valve. Your shut-off valve is typically located near your water heater. If you are unable to turn off your personal shut-off valve, call our Public Works Department at 281-391-4820 and a water technician will come out and turn the water off at the meter.
POWER OUTAGE: If you experience a power outage, you can utilize CenterPoint Energy’s Outage Center at https://buff.ly/3rTwFJ3. For any tree limbs touching power lines or downed power lines, please call CenterPoint Energy at 713-207-2222. DO NOT ATTEMPT TO REMOVE THE LIMB OR POWER LINE YOURSELF. To help conserve energy, unplug devices when not in use, close windows and blinds, and adjust thermostats to 68 degrees or below.

REMINDER! The City of Katy remains fully operational amidst the COVID-19 pandemic. However, to help flatten the curve and stop the spread of the virus, we are providing virtual services at several City facilities.
The following City facilities remain operational but public access is restricted to essential personnel only until further notice:

• Johnny Nelson Katy Heritage Museum

Dockets for April 1st and 2nd will be rescheduled. Defendants will receive a letter in the mail with the new court date. At this time, the Municipal Court will remain operational, but the doors are closed to the public. Due to COVID-19 the Katy Municipal Court has cancelled the Safe Harbor Court Date scheduled for Saturday, March 28, 2020.

Dockets for Wednesday, March 18 and Thursday, March 19 will continue as scheduled. Be mindful and help prevent the spread of germs.
Don't come to court if you:
- have signs or symptoms of a respiratory infection, such as a cough, shortness of breath, sore throat and low grade fever
- have been in contact with someone in the previous 14 days that has had a confirmed diagnosis of COVID-19; is under investigation for COVID-19; or is ill with a respiratory illness

The City of Katy Municipal Court and the Katy Police Department will participate in the 2020 Great Texas Warrant Roundup. The Warrant Roundup is a coordinated statewide warrant enforcement effort to find and then arrest anyone with an outstanding warrant that has been issued as a result of not paying or resolving past due traffic tickets with any court in Texas.
SAFE HARBOR COURT DATE -
The Katy Municipal Court has arranged a Safe Harbor Court Date on Saturday March 28, 2020 from 8AM to 12PM. This will provide the opportunity for all individuals with outstanding warrants to voluntarily clear their cases with out the fear of being arrested.
