Our deepest sympathy and thoughts go out to Houston Police Department as they have lost one of their own in the line of duty. Sgt. Harold Preston was shot and killed this morning responding to a domestic violence call. We are extremely saddened to hear of this tragic incident. Officer Courtney Waller was also shot, but will survive his injuries.

Prayers to the officer’s families, friends, co-workers and the Houston Police Department.

10/16/2020

On Friday, October 16, 2020, the Katy Police Department was advised that they had achieved “Recognized” status from the Texas Police Chiefs Association (TPCA).

This Recognition follows an on-site inspection from the Texas Police Chiefs Association conducted at the Katy Police Department. This inspection was the final step in achieving the TPCA’s Recognition Program to reach “Recognized” status.

The TPCA Recognition Program

The Law Enforcement Recognition Program is a voluntary process where police agencies in Texas prove their compliance with 164 Texas Law Enforcement Best Practices. These Best Practices were carefully developed by Texas Law Enforcement professionals to assist agencies in the efficient and effective delivery of service, the reduction of risk and the protection of individual’s rights. While similar in nature to the national accreditation program, the Best Practices Recognition Program is easier to administer, lower in cost and is designed specifically for Texas Law Enforcement. The Texas Legislature demands a great deal of professional law enforcement in Texas and the Best Practices were specifically designed to aid Texas agencies in meeting those demands and providing the best quality of service to the people of our State.

Well…another one of Katy’s finest is leaving us today with over 30 years in law enforcement.

Sgt. Arnold prided himself for raising a family in Katy, working in Katy and serving the citizens of Katy. Being in law enforcement was more then a job to him, it was what he loved and enjoyed doing. He was the glue to our department and kept it running daily. Aside from his routine duties at the station, his passion for educating the community was the utmost importance. If there was an event in town he was there shaking hands, meeting new people and kneeling down to interact with the younger crowd.

We are without a doubt going to miss Scott but know that he is being called to do bigger and better things for the Katy youth. Good luck to Sgt. Arnold and his wife as they explore new adventures.

God Bless and don’t be a stranger.💙💙💙

KATY BACK THE BLUE PARADE SATURDAY OCTOVER 3....11AM Show your support for our public service men and women. ANYONE CAN JOIN. THE BIGGER THE BETTER! We have had an overwhelming response for the parade. Over 800 people have responded to the event. I wanted to make sure everyone was updated on the new APPROVED route below. I also wanted to clear up a few things. This is for anyone that wants to attend. ANYONE can be in the parade. You DO NOT need to PM me asking if it is OK. WE WANT YOU IN IT and THE MORE PARTICIPANTS THE BETTER! Just because this is titled BACK THE BLUE does not mean we are supporting just police. We are supporting EVERY SINGLE SERVICE MEN AND WOMEN. So please make sure you get your thin red, green, yellow, white, and blue flags out. A lot of people are worried about safety with the amount attention this has gotten. All I will say is we will be fine. We will be escorted and we will be protected. If you are not in the parade we ask that you PLEASE stay on the sidewalk. DO NOT get in the street. We want to see everyone enjoy this but most importantly we want every one safe. Can any vehicle be in the parade? The answer is yes. You do not need a fancy vehicle. We have a ton of groups coming. Some just to mention include a few biker chapters, Houston Raptors, antique cars, Jeeps, monster trucks, and more. The reason I am mentioning this is we are all here for the same reason and that is TO SUPPORT. Please make sure we are respectful to EVERYONE! LAST THING IS TO JUST HAVE FUN. LETS PUT KATY ON THE MAP! Forgot to mention the after party will be at Wildcatter.
I live in Katy , TX. If you are a law enforcement officer and need a break, you can come park outside my home. If you are thirsty I will bring you a drink. If you are hungry I will fix you food. If you are hot I will invite you inside to cool off. If you need additional ammo just ask. If you need backup, I will stand with you. If you need to cry, I will hug you and let you. If you need to talk I will listen. If you need to pray, I will kneel with you. If you are wrong, I will tell you. If you are right I will support you. I only ask that you don't lose faith in Americans. We are NOT all against you. Our lives matter, as do yours. Take off your sunglasses and see the good people that are here for you. we are not as loud and obnoxious as these whiney media seekers, we are strong and waiting to follow your lead. God Bless you and your family. I copied and pasted and changed the city and state..in support of our good men in blue, and I mean it!
Thank you for all you do and for putting your lives on the line every day to keep the community safe. There are a lot of us out here who fully support you!!!
I wanted to express a great big thank you to the Katy Police Department and associated officers for their recent efforts regarding my stolen truck. A little more than 24 hours after being stolen, it now again sits in my driveway with minimal damage. The suspects were apprehended and charged. I, like many of you, our only contact with officers is when we are caught speeding etc... which leads to us cussing them under are breathe Usually you can group police, insurance and lawyers together; they are despised until you need them. After this I’ve gained a new appreciation and admiration for their efforts, particularly Katy PD. So next time you’re signing that speeding ticket, thank them for what they do or maybe buy them a cup of coffee. I know I will. Thanks again for a job that far exceeded any expectations I may have had. Thanks
If anyone is looking for commercial or retail space disinfection company check out these guys. Nice dudes, and quick.

KPD you know that there is always a problem during peek times of travel at the Cane Island Bridge on both sides of the bridge. Instead of stopping cars between the round about and Hwy 90 how about directing traffic at Cane Island Parkway and the light next to Living Earth? You could help the flow of traffic during these times until a better solution is provided.
Thank you all for your service
Thank you for stopping by BVS Home Experts! Merry Christmas
