Our Story
Established in 1967, the police department is currently comprised of 50 sworn officers including Detectives and Administration and 17 support personnel including telecommunicators and animal control. The department is under the command of Chief J.Noe Diaz. Although each department maintains its own duties, it is paramount that we all work together to keep the City of Katy safe.
The Police Department services Harris, Fort Bend and Waller Counties within the city limits of Katy. Officers patrol approximately 14.6 square miles of "Old Katy" and protect about 14,000 residence 365 days a year, 24 hours a day.
