Hi, I’m Susie Hughes, the Executive Director of Giving Back to the Community, and I have a great opportunity for the Jr. High and High School students that want Homecoming mums. The Mums & Things Shop is having pop up mum making shops around DFW to help parents and students who want to participate in Homecoming with mums but don’t have the money for expensively designed mums. They come to the school and bring all the supplies for basic mums and help craft the backs, help design the ribbon flow, and make the name chains. The class is $50 a student for basic mums and half the proceeds will go to our nonprofit Giving Back to the Community for us to partner with the school district to provide resources for teachers, parents, and students. If you’re interested, we can get a flyer to you but we’ll need to use a gym or cafeteria space if a large amount of students are interested and to be COVID-19 safe. Please remember these ladies are moms who understand Homecoming and are experts at mum making that are donating their time to help our Kaufman Lions spirit.
