On June 19, 1865, more than two years after the Emancipation Proclamation was issued, enslaved people in Texas were finally informed of their freedom. This historic day has become a symbol of freedom, resilience, and hope.

The City of Kaufman joins communities across the country in recognizing this important day and celebrating the values of freedom, unity, and progress that continue to shape our nation.

In observance of Juneteenth, City offices will be closed today. Emergency services will remain available to serve the community.

๐Ÿ‹๐Ÿ’› Our First Lemonade Stand Fundraiser Kiddo ๐Ÿ’›๐Ÿ‹

Today we had the joy of visiting Bella and her lemonade stand. She greeted us with the sweetest wave, the biggest smile, and some absolutely delicious lemonade!

She may be little, but don't let her size fool you. Her heart is HUGE. โค๏ธ She chose to spend her time helping other children, and that kind of kindness is something worth celebrating.

Thank you for showing us that you are never too young to make an impact.

Way to go, Bella! ๐Ÿ‹โœจ

Hello, Neighbors!

Members of the Kaufman Police Department stopped by 701 S. Madison Street in Kaufman today to support the hard work of one of our young community members.

If you're in the area and could use a refreshing drink and a smile, be sure to stop by before 3:30 p.m. today!

Even better, all proceeds will benefit the Clothed in Grace Foster Closet, helping support local foster families and children in need.

Come out, show your support, and make a difference in our community!
