***NCT911 Gala***

The North Central Texas Emergency Communications District (NCT9-1-1) was created pursuant to Chapter 772, Subchapter H, of the Texas Health and Safety Code. NCT9-1-1 is engaged in the planning, implementation, and maintenance of an emergency 9-1-1 system for more than 40 Emergency Communication Centers (ECCs) across 14 counties surrounding the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex. NCT9-1-1 serves a population of approximately 2 million residents across more than 9,800 square miles.

On Saturday, May 9, 2026, at the 9-1-1 Gala hosted by North Central Texas Emergency Communications District, several of our dispatchers from the Kaufman County Sheriff's Office were nominated in outstanding categories:

Jessica Collum — Supervisor of the Year
Team of the Year — Jessica Collum, Bri Luna, ShyAnn Reyna, Hylaree Crow, Amanda Coe, and Brittany Sehion, in recognition of their exceptional work during a high-stress call
Bri Luna — Training Professional of the Year

As Sheriff of Kaufman County, I want to personally thank every deputy, detention officer, dispatcher, investigator, and member of our support staff during National Law Enforcement Appreciation Week.

The men and women of the Kaufman County Sheriff’s Office serve this community with courage, professionalism, and integrity every single day. Whether answering emergency calls, protecting our schools, investigating crimes, or serving behind the scenes, their commitment to public safety never goes unnoticed.

Law enforcement is more than a profession it is a calling rooted in sacrifice and service. I am proud to stand beside the dedicated individuals who wear this badge and faithfully serve the citizens of Kaufman County.

On behalf of the Sheriff’s Office, thank you to our families, community members, and supporters for your continued encouragement and trust. Your support means everything to us.

In 2025, there were over 1,300 incidents involving accidental shootings, and many of them were preventable. Responsible education and firearm storage save lives.
🔒 Secure Your Fi****ms
• Always keep fi****ms locked when not in use
• Use a gun safe, lockbox, or cabinet
🔑 Store Ammunition Separately
• Keep ammunition in a separate, locked location
🔐 Use Safety Devices
• Install trigger locks or cable locks on every firearm
👀 Stay Aware
• Never leave a firearm unattended
• Always Maintain control
🧠 Teach Children What to Do
If they find a gun:
STOP – DON’T TOUCH – RUN AWAY – TELL AN ADULT
🏠 Ask About Other Homes
Before your child visits, ask if fi****ms are present and how they are secured
