Capital Murder Suspect Arrested in Kaufman County
On Wednesday, July 1, 2026, at approximately 9:45 p.m., the Kaufman County Sheriff's Office, in coordination with the United States Marshals Service and the Texas Department of Public Safety, executed an arrest warrant in the 1400 block of Kirkhill Lane in Forney, Kaufman County, Texas.
The suspect, Devone Modacure, who was wanted by authorities in Mississippi on a Capital Murder warrant, was taken into custody without incident.
Following the arrest, Modacure was transported to the Kaufman County Justice Center, where he is being held pending extradition proceedings.

The Kaufman County Sheriff’s Office announces that Capital Murder suspect Diego Rodriguez was taken into custody in Douglas, Arizona, at approximately 3:00 p.m. today.

This arrest comes after months of dedicated investigative work involving countless man-hours and the collaborative efforts of multiple law enforcement agencies. Investigators and officers worked diligently together, sharing resources and information to locate and apprehend the suspect.

The Kaufman County Sheriff’s Office extends its gratitude to the numerous local, state, and federal law enforcement partners whose cooperation and commitment were instrumental in bringing this case to this point.

Additional information will be released as it becomes available and as the investigation permits.
