Over the past several days, The Kaukauna Police Department has received numerous complaints about the PGI fireworks convention at WIR. This event is not in the City of Kaukauna but permitted by and located in the Town of Buchanan. For Immediate Release:

On Monday, August 10, 2026 the Kaukauna Police Department arrested Kaukauna resident Ty M. Maki, age 43. Mr. Maki was subsequently booked into the Outagamie County Jail for Attempted - Exposing a child to harmful materials or harmful descriptions or narrations; in violation of state statute 948.11.

Throughout this investigation, Detectives submitted numerous subpoenas and search warrants. Detectives learned Mr. Maki was engaged in sexually explicit chatting via an online app with a person who he believed was under the age of 16.

Mr. Maki is a 5th grade teacher at River View Middle School in Kaukauna.

At this time there is no evidence to suggest that any children in this area were harmed or exposed to harmful materials.

Given the sensitive nature of this investigation and since this is an active criminal investigation, no other details will be released at this time.

As in all criminal cases, the charges referenced are allegations, and the individual is presumed innocent until proven guilty in the court of law.

Please join us in welcoming Officer Dylan Solis to the Kaukauna Police Department!

Officer Solis is originally from Holland Michigan and now proudly calls the Fox Valley home.

Outside of work, Dylan enjoys hunting, fishing, and biking.

We are excited to have Officer Solis as part of our team. Officer Solis recently started his field training process, if you see Dylan out and about be sure to say hello and welcome him to Kaukauna!
