Its been a busy week in Calumet County. Tuesday we responded to the Town of Stockbridge to help Stockbridge Fire Department with a large structure fire. We sent Tender 1012 for water, and Engine 1013 with a crew of 5 for manpower. Last night we responded with Tender 1012 to assist Harrison Fire-Rescue with a large structure fire. We are always happy to work with our neighbors and MABAS partners.

On Saturday May 16th, we were paged out for mutual aid to assist the City of Kaukauna Fire Department at the Thilmany mill for a structure fire. A crew of 8 and E1013 responded and assisted with manpower on scene for around 3 hours. We are always happy to help our neighbors!

Last week's training consisted of working on breathing air conservation. We utilized the baseball diamond at the park and played a game of kickball while geared up and on air. Fun was had by all, and it was a great way to work on breathing exercises.

This week you may notice fire stations and houses lit up in red. That's because it's National Fallen Firefighters Week. Around 80 Firefighters give the ultimate sacrifice every year nation wide. The majority of Firefighters in the country are volunteer. We give up family time, leave work, if allowed, and rise up in the middle of the night to keep our community safe. The lights will run to May 3rd.

We were happy to participate in the training burn at an acquired structure today in the Town of Lawrence. Trainings like this are key in helping firefighters learn how to attack fires in homes, working with live fire, and work with neighboring departments. Thank you for the invite Lawrence Fire Department.

Reminder, first yard waste drop off is Sat. April 11th and Sat. April 25th at the park.

Please help us! Do your part to clean around fire hydrants. Also, keep an eye on your furnace exhaust, and make sure that it stays clear. A blocked exhaust can lead to CO build up in your residence, which could be deadly. Please stay safe if you have to travel.

Recently, the Wrightstown 4-H club donated some hand made blankets to us, to use on incident scenes, to comfort young people involved at the incident.
