🪵 Wood Cutting Challenge 🪵

Kayenta Township invites the community to join us for the Wood Cutting Challenge on Wednesday, July 1, 2026, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Kayenta Vendor Village.

Participants can take part in the following events:

• Wood-Hauling: Saw, Split, Haul, and Load
• Hot Saw
• Underhand Chop: Men’s and Women’s
• Standing Chop: Men’s and Women’s

Team limit: 6 members max

Come out and be part of the challenge, support the participants, and enjoy an evening with the community.

2026 Annual Youth Hunt

The Navajo Nation Department of Fish and Wildlife is sponsoring the 2026 Annual Youth Hunt for Navajo youth ages 12 to 16 who have an interest in hunting but may not know where to start.

This program is a great opportunity for youth to learn the basics of hunting, outdoor life, hunter safety, camp setup, and responsible outdoor practices with support from volunteer hunting mentors.

This is a free event, with prizes for 1st through 3rd place. Bring your chairs and canopies, and come enjoy a fun afternoon at the park. Free water will be available for participants.

Kayenta 4th of July Pow Wow 2026

Come out and enjoy the Kayenta 4th of July Pow Wow on July 3 and July 4, 2026, at the MVHS Nash Center.

Bring your family and friends for two days of gourd dancing, grand entry, drums, specials, and community celebration. This is a great way to be part of Kayenta’s 4th of July events and support the dancers, singers, families, and sponsors who help make this gathering possible.

Do not miss out on the chance to be part of the start of Kayenta’s 4th of July Celebration.

Kayenta Township is still accepting food vendor applications for Saturday, June 27, 2026, from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM at Kayenta Recreation Park.

Food trucks, food stands, and beverage vendors are welcome.

Vendor Fee: $25
Application Deadline: Thursday, June 25, 2026
Spaces are limited

Submit your application before the deadline to reserve your spot.

Traffic Advisory: SR 98 East of Page

The Arizona Department of Transportation is advising drivers to plan for intermittent lane restrictions on State Route 98 east of Page due to pavement repair work.

Restrictions will be in place from 6:00 AM to 3:00 PM, beginning Monday, June 22, through Thursday, July 23.

Drivers should expect the following:

SR 98 will be narrowed to one lane with alternating eastbound and westbound travel from mileposts 311 to 331
Flaggers and a pilot car will guide traffic through the work zone
A 14-foot vehicle width restriction will be in place
Drivers should allow extra travel time and use caution in the area

Please plan ahead, slow down, and watch for crews working along the roadway.

Bring the kids out for a fun day of bikes, skills, games, and outdoor activity at Kayenta Recreation Park.

This event is open to youth ages 5 to 15 and is free to participate.
