Come check out SCIENCE NIGHT at Kea’au Armory!

Join us and many community partners at Science Night at the Kea‘au Armory from 5-7 p.m. Thursday, July 30!

The free event will feature activities related to science, technology, engineering and math (STEM); hands-on experiments; space and astronomy exploration; opportunities to connect with local STEM organizations; and fun learning experiences for the whole family.

Science Night is a collaboration between the County of Hawai‘i, Starbase Hawai‘i, and the Hawai‘i Science and Technology Museum.

Many community partners will be leading activities at the event including the Gemini Observatory, Subaru Telescope, Army National Guard, Big Island Amateur Radio Club, University of Hawai‘i Institute for Astronomy, Hawaiian Volcano Education & Resilience Institute, and Pacific International Space Center for Exploration Systems.

The Kea‘au Armory is located at 16-512 Volcano Road, Kea‘au.

Congratulations to the amazing students from Haili Christian PCS on graduating from our second STARBASE Hawaiʻi Summer STEM Program!

Throughout the week, our students embraced new challenges, explored exciting STEM concepts, and discovered that learning is at its best when it’s hands-on. Whether designing, building, experimenting, or collaborating with teammates, each student demonstrated creativity, perseverance, and a passion for learning.

We are incredibly proud of everything you accomplished and hope this experience inspires you to continue asking questions, solving problems, and exploring the endless possibilities that STEM has to offer.

Congratulations to all of our incredible students who successfully completed the STARBASE Hawaiʻi Summer STEM Program! Over the past week, you explored science, technology, engineering, and mathematics through exciting hands-on activities, creative problem-solving, and teamwork.
From engineering challenges and robotics to chemistry and design, each of you demonstrated curiosity, perseverance, and a willingness to learn. We hope the experiences and friendships you made inspire you to continue exploring the amazing world of STEM.

🌺 Mahalo for an Amazing Family Day! 🌺

A huge mahalo to everyone who joined us for Family Day at Keaukaha Military Reservation! It was wonderful to see so many families, community partners, and supporters come together for a day filled with great food, hands-on STEM activities, and meaningful connections.

From building and exploring STEM challenges to sharing meals and conversations, the day was a great reminder that inspiring the next generation takes an entire community. Events like these strengthen the relationships that help our keiki discover, create, and dream big.

Thank you to every volunteer, community partner, and attendee who made the day such a success. Your enthusiasm, generosity, and support continue to make a lasting impact on our students and our community.

🚁 A Big Mahalo! 🚒

A heartfelt mahalo to the Hawaiʻi Fire Department and Rescue Helicopter Pilot Matthew Mannion for taking the time to inspire our STARBASE Hawaiʻi students!

Our students had an incredible opportunity to learn firsthand about the critical role the Hawaiʻi Fire Department plays in protecting our island communities. From emergency response and rescue operations to teamwork, leadership, and service, the stories and experiences shared helped bring STEM careers to life in a truly unforgettable way.

We are deeply grateful to Pilot Matthew Mannion for sharing his passion for aviation, rescue operations, and serving the people of Hawaiʻi. Your dedication and willingness to invest in the next generation inspire our students to dream big and explore the many ways they can make a difference in their own communities.

Get ready for an exciting week of hands-on STEM adventures with STARBASE Hawaii!

Our STARBASE Hawaii Summer STEM Exploration program gives students the opportunity to dive into the worlds of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics through engaging, interactive activities designed to spark curiosity and creativity. Throughout the week, students will explore exciting topics such as robotics, engineering design, circuitry, coding, rockets, CAD, teamwork challenges, and more — all while learning through hands-on discovery and problem-solving.

Whether your child already loves STEM or is just beginning to explore it, this program is designed to inspire confidence, creativity, and a passion for learning in a fun and supportive environment.

🎓🌟 Huge congratulations to our latest graduating classes from Hawaii Academy of Arts and Sciences! 🌟🎓

Over the past few days, these amazing students explored the world of STEM through hands-on learning, teamwork, creativity, and problem solving with STARBASE Hawaii! 🚀🔬🤖

From chemistry experiments and engineering challenges to robotics, circuitry, and physics, these students brought curiosity, energy, and outstanding teamwork to every activity. We are so proud of the confidence, creativity, and perseverance they demonstrated throughout the program.

🚀 What an awesome night of STEM exploration at Science Night!

From hands-on engineering challenges and robotics to exciting science experiments and creative problem-solving, our students had the chance to explore, discover, and imagine the possibilities of STEM in action. 🌟

Big Mahalos again to the Hawaiʻi Science and Technology Museum, Keonepoko Elementary School, and all of our incredible community STEM partners, volunteers, educators, and mentors who helped make this event such a success.
