Stay weather aware today! ⛈️

A moderate (Level 4 out of 5) risk exists for parts of the forecast area, with an enhanced (Level 3) and slight (Level 2) risk extending southeastward. Greater confidence exists with storms developing into a line of storms later this evening/overnight. However, a conditional threat exists for the development of discrete storms this afternoon, dependent on how the atmosphere recovers from morning storms. Stay up to date with the forecast, and have multiple ways to receive warnings!

When our crews transport patients to the emergency department they transfer patient care knowing they may not get an update on their patients outcome. That makes messages like this one extremely special to receive. ❤️

Our spring hydrant flushing program is underway.

This routine maintenance helps:
• Remove sediment from water mains
• Improve water quality
• Maintain proper system flow
• Ensure hydrants are ready when needed

You may notice temporary discoloration in your water as crews flush hydrants in your area. This is normal and should clear quickly. Running your water for a few minutes will help.

If you see a black bag over a hydrant, it means the hydrant is not operating properly and has been taken out of service for repair. These hydrants will be repaired after the spring flushing program is complete later this month.

The Fire Department is aware of these hydrants and has contingency plans in place if needed.
