CELEBRATE NATIONAL TRAILS DAY IN KEARNEY! 🏃♂️🌿
Looking for the perfect excuse to step outside, get moving, and enjoy the fresh air? National Trails Day 2026 is today Saturday, June 6th!
Established by the American Hiking Society, this nationwide celebration encourages everyone to get outdoors, discover local paths, and commit to taking care of our beautiful green spaces.
You don’t have to travel far to participate! Kearney is proud to maintain over 7 miles of paved trails and scenic walking paths right here in our own backyard. Whether you're logging a morning run on the trails at Jesse James Park or taking a peaceful weekend stroll under the shade trees at Lions Park, our local trail network is the perfect place to recharge.
Want to join the nationwide movement this Saturday? Here is how you can celebrate:
Take the Pledge: Join hikers and walkers across the country in taking the pledge to leave our outdoor spaces better than you found them. https://americanhiking.org/national-trails-day/
Explore Somewhere New: Hit a Kearney trail you've never walked before, or check out the American Hiking Society Event Locator online to find regional volunteer stewardship projects and guided hikes nearby. https://americanhiking.org/national-trails-day/find-an-event/
Our trails keep Kearney connected, active, and healthy. Lace up your sneakers today and go explore!
