Those efforts helped earn our community recognition as a Well City USA—a testament to Buffalo County’s commitment to health and wellness.

Because when employees are healthier, businesses are stronger, and our entire community benefits. For 30 years, we've been building a healthier Buffalo County through partnerships, innovation, and community-wide collaboration.

For 30 years, we have had the privilege of working alongside Community Pillars, partners from all walks of life who help strengthen our community every day. We deeply value their experience, dedication, and commitment to making a difference.

Today, we have Chief Gabe Kowalek from the Kearney Police Department. He has been a valued partner in our Positive Pressure group to reduce youth substance misuse as well as his overall support of building community in the work that we do.

We're excited to honor this year's Outstanding Youth Advocates: Buffalo County Youth Advisory Board

The Buffalo County YAB brings together 25 student leaders from across Buffalo County to identify challenges facing young people and advocate for solutions that improve health and well-being for all students.

By reviewing student health data, elevating youth perspectives, and engaging directly in the legislative process, YAB is creating meaningful change in their communities. Their advocacy has helped advance policies that strengthen mental health crisis response systems and support early intervention for youth experiencing trauma, neglect, or instability.

For 15 years, Buffalo County Community Partners worked alongside healthcare providers, community leaders, and dedicated partners to turn a vision into reality: a place where uninsured individuals could receive the medical care they needed.

That vision became the HelpCare Clinic, providing compassionate healthcare for people who otherwise may have gone without treatment.

Because no one should have to choose between their health and their financial circumstances.

This milestone reminds us that lasting community change requires persistence, partnership, and people who refuse to give up on a good idea.

For 30 years, Buffalo County Community Partners has brought people together to solve challenges that no single organization can solve alone.
