SEVERE WEATHER POTENTIAL: Friday, June 5, 2026

There is a level 1 “Marginal Risk” and a level 2 “Slight Risk” for much of eastern Nebraska this Friday.

A line of storms will move through starting as early as late afternoon, but becoming more likely after 6pm. Hail, damaging wind, a tornadoes will be possible.

There is a slight risk for severe thunderstorms Thursday afternoon and evening, mainly over north central Nebraska. Large hail is the primary threat along with damaging winds, heavy rain and a tornado or two is possible.

A Severe Thunderstorm Watch has been issued for several counties in western Nebraska until 10 p.m. CDT/9 p.m. MDT Tuesday night. Primary threats include hail up to 2" in diameter, damaging wind gusts up to 70 mph and a tornado or two (June 2, 2026).
