Following 16 weeks of rigorous training and personal sacrifices, today marks a significant milestone to commemorate. Officer Seth Sloan has officially graduated from the Nebraska Law Enforcement Training Academy. He will now return to campus to initiate his in-house training.

We are eager to welcome Officer Sloan back to campus and look forward to his successful career with the UNK PD.

Even police officers are not safe from receiving these messages. AC Eichholz received 2 today from out-of-state area codes. Note the misspelled Lincoln and wrong state.

These messages may:
• Claim you owe money for a traffic violation or toll
• Threaten license suspension, court action, or collections
• Include a link or QR code directing you to make a payment
• Appear official with court language and formatting

🚫 What you should know:
• Legitimate courts will NOT contact you by text to demand payment
• You will not be threatened with immediate enforcement without proper legal process
• Official notices are handled through verified court channels

✅ What to do:
• DO NOT click links, scan codes, or send money
• Do not provide personal or financial information
• Delete the message and block the sender
