Jefferson County Sheriff's Office - WV We currently serve approximately 60,000 citizens and are responsible for the welfare and safety of these citizens within a 212 square mile area.

The Jefferson County Sheriff's Department is located in the Eastern Panhandle of West Virginia and is bordered by Maryland, Virginia, and Berkeley County, West Virginia. We are a full service law enforcement organization that is charged with all types of police services, protection and security of our courts, transport of prisoners and mental hygiene patients and the service of civil process'.

In preparation for an upcoming retirement, the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office is accepting applications for the position of Administrative Assistant.

The desired applicant must be able to:

✔️Communicate effectively with co-workers and the public, both verbally and in writing
✔️Possess superb data entry skills
✔️Be comfortable learning and working in multiple databases
✔️Be comfortable working with money
✔️Be knowledgeable of the Microsoft Office/Microsoft 365 suite of products - Excel knowledge preferred
✔️Be comfortable working with and around law enforcement personnel
✔️Maintain confidential and sensitive law enforcement information

Application Deadline is June 15, 2026

Desired Start date is first week of July, but negotiable.

Minimum Starting Salary is $36,721, but will be commensurate with experience.
