Questions About Your Water Bill? We're Here to Help!
The City of Kechi has been contacted by several residents this week regarding water bills that were higher than expected. If you have questions about your water bill, please don't hesitate to contact City Hall at 316-744-9287.
Our staff is happy to assist and have several tools available to help investigate your water usage, including:
- Verifying the meter reading on your account
- Reviewing water consumption trends
- Access to usage graphs that can show daily and even hourly water usage patterns
While these graphs are not exact, they can often help identify unusual water usage and possible leaks. Our goal is to help residents understand their utility bills and answer any questions they may have.
Reminder About Water Rates
Please remember that the City's tiered water rate structure went into effect on July 1, 2025, with an additional rate increase implemented in March 2026. More information about current utility rates can be found here:

Check for Leaks
Even a small water leak can waste a surprising amount of water over time. A ¼-inch leak can waste approximately 158,000 gallons of water in just three months.
Take a few moments to check:
- Faucets
- Toilets
- Outdoor spigots
- Irrigation systems
- Water lines and pipes
Promptly repairing leaks can help conserve water and reduce your monthly utility bill.
