Due to the loyalty to our community, our fire members will be hosting a pared down Chicken BBQ on Sunday July 26th. The BBQ chicken will be in sandwich form available for takeout or sit down. Stop by to visit with our department members,your neighbors and visitors alike, while assisting us with raising funds for fire fighting equipment.

Chris DiCintio dedicated his life to helping others as a NY State Forest Ranger, always sharing his humor and smile. Now, he's facing a tough battle with stage four pancreatic cancer, and medical bills are piling up quickly. This fundraiser is just getting started, and sharing helps so much in these early days. Even if you can't donate, a quick share can help it reach people who may be able to support. Please consider sharing or donating if this cause speaks to you.

First, a big shout-out to our Keene and Keene Valley EMS volunteers, some of whom have over 40 years of EMS volunteer experience. Second, the Town of Keene was one of the last EMS volunteer strongholds in Northern New York. In an effort to keep our EMS team strong and encourage people to join, we have moved to a paid on-call duty schedule. So, if you are interested in driving the ambulance one day/night a week, or two days/nights a week, or more, or becoming an EMT - you will be paid $10.00 an hour to be in town and on duty - ready to respond to a person in need. When responding to a call drivers are paid $20 per hour and EMTs are paid $25 per hour. For those willing and able to serve as an Emergency Medical Technician, there is an EMT course this summer. Please consider your impact on our team.
