The Keene Police Department has identified the suspect in today's reported attempted abduction investigation as 28-year-old Carlos Cuevas-Ruiz of Cleburne.
Through the diligent work of KPD investigators, with the assistance of several local law enforcement agencies, the suspect was located in the 9400 block of Silver Creek Road in Fort Worth. He was taken into custody and transported to the Johnson County Jail, where he was booked on a charge of Criminal Attempt Kidnapping.
This investigation remains active and ongoing.

Keene Police Department Investigating Reported Attempted Abduction
The Keene Police Department is actively investigating a reported attempted abduction involving a 15-year-old female that occurred this afternoon in the 300 block of Greenbriar.
At approximately 1:10 p.m., a female juvenile was walking along the roadway when she was approached by an adult Hispanic male who exited a black SUV and engaged her in conversation. During the encounter, witnesses advised the suspect grabbed the juvenile and attempted to place her into his vehicle. The juvenile was able to break free from the suspect. Bystanders witnessed the incident, confronted the suspect, and came to the juvenile's aid. The suspect then fled the area in the vehicle. The witnesses safely escorted the juvenile to her residence. Fortunately, she was not physically injured.
The suspect is described as a Hispanic male, 20-30 years of age, approximately 5’8”, average build, short brown hair, last seen wearing an orange work style T-shirt. The suspect vehicle is described as a black SUV, possibly a Chevrolet Tahoe.
This investigation remains active and ongoing. We urge the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity or information that may assist in identifying and locating the suspect. We also want to thank and recognize the witnesses for the quick action that was taken during this incident.
