Caddo Fire District 4 Responds to Large Barn and Pasture Fire on Adams Road

Shortly after 2:00 p.m., Caddo Fire District 4 was dispatched to a reported structure fire in the 9100 block of Adams Road.

Upon arrival, CFD 4 crews found a large barn fully involved in fire, with flames also spreading through a portion of the surrounding pasture. The rapidly moving fire was threatening several nearby buildings that housed numerous farm animals.

Firefighters immediately began efforts to contain the fire and protect the surrounding structures. Crews were able to quickly stop the forward spread of the flames and prevent the fire from reaching the nearby buildings and animals.

Caddo Fire District 3 and Caddo Fire District 6 responded to assist CFD 4 with fire suppression and water supply operations. Firefighters worked for nearly an hour before bringing the blaze under control.

No injuries were reported during the incident. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.

“Fighting a fire of this size is already physically demanding, but extreme summer temperatures add another significant risk for our firefighters,” said Caddo Fire District 4 Fire Chief Josh Gamble. “Our crews are working in heavy protective equipment, around intense heat, while already being exposed to high outdoor temperatures. We ask everyone to please continue to follow the burn ban that is currently in effect. Conditions are extremely dry, and a small fire can become a large, dangerous incident very quickly.”

Caddo Fire District 4 would like to thank Caddo Fire Districts 3 and 6 for their assistance and continued partnership during emergency incidents throughout our area.

Today, Caddo Fire District 4 is proud to send two of our members to Texas to assist communities affected by severe storm damage and flooding.

Their deployment is part of a larger regional collaboration through a state-level Urban Search and Rescue team. We take great pride in knowing that even a small department like ours can play a role in a much larger mission of service and support.

We are grateful for the opportunity to lend a hand beyond our borders and appreciate the departments, team members, and leaders who make this organization possible.

Please join us in praying for everyone affected by these storms, as well as for safe travel and safe operations for all teams deploying to assist.
