City of Keizer Water Update:
Water Intertie Testing with City of Salem
Jan 26 - Jan 30th

What: We are conducting necessary tests of our water intertie with the City of Salem to prepare for next fall/winter, when the Army Corps of Engineers will conduct a deep drawdown of the Detroit Lake Reservoir to guide young salmon through the dam’s regulating outlets. This will stir up sediment in the North Santiam River, affecting Salem’s drinking water quality.

What to expect: Possible discolored water through Friday.

Action: Your water is safe to drink, as these are natural minerals in our groundwater. If you notice discolored water, run your bathtub’s cold water faucet for a few minutes to clear it out of your service lines.

We appreciate your patience as we perform this crucial testing.
