Emerald Ash Borer (EAB) traps have been placed in five Ash trees in Keizer. EAB is a small, green, invasive beetle that infests and kills ash trees. It was first detected in Oregon in 2022 and in Marion County in 2024. EAB has not yet been detected within Keizer. The traps are provided by Oregon Department of Forestry to facilitate early detection of EAB in new areas of the state. Please do not disturb or remove the traps.

Early detection will assist the City in managing ash trees in our public areas.
How you can help fight EAB:
πŸ”₯ Buy firewood where you burn it β€” moving firewood is one of the fastest ways EAB spreads.
πŸ‘€ Watch for warning signs like D-shaped exit holes, bark splitting, or tree canopy die back.
🌱 Stay informed and help monitor ash trees in your area. If you see a trap that has fallen down, please contact the City.
