Keizer Youth Peer Court Youth Empowerment for Justice

The Keizer Youth Peer Court is a diversion program for juvenile offenders within the Keizer City limits who have been cited by local law enforcement authorities and who meet the following eligibility criteria:
ages 12-17
Residence with the boundary of the Keizer City limits or attend a school in Keizer.

Happy summer from Keizer Youth Peer Court!

Just a reminder as we are all enjoying having our kids out of school, the city of Keizer has a youth curfew order. Youth below the age of 16 must be accompanied by a legal guardian from the hours of 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. and 16-17 year olds must be accompanied from 12 midnight to 6 a.m.

Attached are some definitions and laws we have in place that are highly encouraged to be shared with our youth to help them stay out of trouble, or if you would like more info on the curfew!

Keizer Peer Court is looking for youth volunteers ages 11-18 for summer Peer Court sessions!
Court is held on Thursdays at 4:30pm with a check in time of 4:15pm. Court lasts about 30-45 minutes.

Volunteers get the chance to act as judge, jury members, and bailiff.

This is a great opportunity to gain community service hours and boost your resume for college and future jobs!

Keizer Peer Court is looking for youth volunteers ages 11-18 for Thursday peer courts!
With the new school hours, court is now at 4:30pm so arriving and checking in at 4:15pm.
Court lasts about 30-45 minutes.

If you would like to volunteer or know anyone that would like to start volunteering please let me know.

You will have the opportunity to be a youth judge, bailiff, and juror member.

We also do a youth trainings each year that are super fun!

We keep record of your volunteer hours and those hours can be used for school credit, college applications, and job resumes!

To our Keizer Peer Court Community,

Cari Emery Coleman had been our program coordinator since 2004, when she brought Peer Court to Keizer. Cari had been battling brain cancer since June 2019. Unfortunately, she passed away yesterday, February 17, 2021.

She loved this program, the youth, and the Keizer community. She truly poured herself into peer court and believed in our program. She will be greatly missed by all.

This is an emotional time and we know many in our community will be affected. We are so sorry to all those affected by her passing. Please reach out to us if you need or want to talk.

Keizer Peer Court will continue. There will be a transition period, so please be patient with us. We will be reaching out to all active cases and responding to emails soon.
