The Kline township Police Department would like to thank the citizens of McAdoo, Butler Township, and Hazleton area for all of the information that was reported and all the shares on social media. We also would like to thank Butler Township and Sugarloaf Police Departments on the quick and safe apprehension of the suspect, Chase Lynn Abbitt, 21, with no fixed address. Also, thank you to the Hazleton Police Department for reaching out to offer technical assistance during the course of the investigation. Abbitt is currently being arraigned in Luzerne County on charges of receiving stolen property, possession of drugs. Charges will be filed tomorrow morning by Kline Township Police Department in Schuylkill County with the following charges; Robbery, Theft, and Aggravated Assault.

Strong arm robbery occurred at JF Enterprises. 951 Mile Hill Road, McAdoo at approximately 4:40 pm on Wednesday, September 3, 2025.

Proprietor of the business was struck in the head and the actor then removed a firearm and cash from the victim's pockets. Actor fled into the wooded area north of the scene.

Suspect is described as a white or light skinned male approximately 5'10" tall and approximately 170 pounds, black hair and black, thin, beard coming to a goatee. Suspect was wearing a gray tee shirt and dark colored cargo shorts.

CAPTURED!!!

Authorities have issued an arrest warrant for 55-year-old Terence Ray of Hazleton, who is charged with criminal homicide and abuse of a co**se in the death of 39-year-old Jessica Lockwood.

Lockwood's body was discovered burning along Club 40 Road in Hazleton on Sunday, April 27. An autopsy conducted on Tuesday, April 29, determined the cause of death to be a gunshot wound and blunt force trauma, and the manner of death was ruled a homicide.

Investigators identified Ray as a suspect after a license plate detection system recorded his dark blue Ford Explorer as the last vehicle to enter Club 40 Road before Lockwood's body was found. A subsequent search of Ray's residence on Muir Avenue revealed a pool of blood in the basement, a golden diamond earring matching one missing from Lockwood's body, blood on a red handcart and a piece of rope, blood-soaked trash bags and paper towels, two live 9mm rounds of ammunition, and fabric matching a torn pillowcase in the house and restraints found on Lockwood's body. Police also discovered ownership papers for a 9mm R***r handgun and an empty gun case in Ray's bedroom.

Ray is currently at large and is considered dangerous. Authorities believe he has fled Luzerne County.

Snow Ban will take effect on Thursday 11/21/2024 at 7pm until further notice. Please follow posted RED Snow Ban Parking Signs. There is no parking on the RED side. Park on the BLUE (odd) side. There is also no parking in the alleys during the snow ban. Thank you!

Kline Township Police are investigating a series of break-ins which occurred during the early hours Sunday morning 11/17/2024 between approximately 3am and 5am in the areas of Bridge Street, Snyder Ave, and Haddock Road.

We are asking any residents who live in the township with home surveillance cameras to please review your camera footage. If you believe you have useful information please contact our office.
