While one of our Texas Intrastate Fire Mutual Aid System (TIFMAS) teams is currently deployed to assist with wildfire response, more of our members are answering the call!

Last week several of our members attended a Wildland Firefighting class to gain certification and become deployable through TIFMAS. Strong work brothers! Above and beyond for the greater good.

šŸ”„MUTUAL AID FIRE RESPONSEšŸ”„
At the request of the Texas Intrastate Fire Mutual Aid System (TIFMAS), four members of the Keller Fire Department have deployed with a Type 1 engine to support ongoing grass-fire response operations across Texas.

TIFMAS allows Texas fire departments to mobilize qualified personnel and resources to assist communities during major emergencies. These deployments strengthen statewide response capabilities while providing valuable experience that benefits our personnel and the Keller community.

A Type 1 engine provides a high-capacity fire pump, water, hose, equipment, and trained personnel. During grass fires, these engines are especially important for protecting homes and other structures, establishing water supplies, supporting fire-attack operations, and responding to fires where wildland areas meet developed communities.

We are proud of these members for their commitment, professionalism, and willingness to serve wherever they are needed. We are also grateful to their families for supporting them as they assist communities facing dangerous wildfire conditions.

Please help us in wishing our members a safe deployment and a safe return home!

A Step in the Right Direction!
Below is a letter from our Association President, thanking our City Leaders for the largest market adjustment to Keller Firefighter salaries in the last ten years.

This is a huge and deeply meaningful step in the right direction. The road ahead remains long but it means a lot knowing we walk it with the support of our City.

Associations matter, and unity is meaningful both to our families relying on us to support them and our morale coming in to each shift and wearing the uniform of a Keller Firefighter. Thank you to our city and our community for the continued support.

This week several of your Keller Firefighters attended Swift Water Technician class, learning the complex and critical skills of Swift Water rescue. Instructors included members of Texas Task Force 1 and 2, including our own Battalion Chief Brad Daugirda.

Swift Water is among the technical
rescue disciplines with the highest probability in our community, as Keller has several high water crossing areas prone to flash flooding.

We appreciate our members going above and beyond to keep Keller safe!

At approx. 11:00a today E583 and FM581 responded to a van on fire at the corner of N. Tarrant and Rodeo St. On arrival the engine compartment was fully involved. No injuries were reported, and the cause of the fire is under investigation.

The fire was under control within 10 minutes of the initial 911 call! Great job, A shift station 3!

This week the Keller Fire Soccer Team is playing in Round Rock for the Firefighter Summer Games, and they brought our cause with them!

Our team will sport green and black ribbons as they play to support Jayci Goolsby, the daughter of our Captain Bobby Goolsby, as she battles cancer.

A GofundMe is set up to support her during this difficult time, and the campaign has been pinned to the top of this page. Please consider donating! No one fights alone.

One of our own is facing a difficult journey as he navigates the recent cancer diagnosis of one of his children. We are here to show them they are not fighting alone. A GofundMe has been set up in her name, and any and all donations are much appreciated to support them during this time.

Right now our Associations Executive Board is reaching out to our representatives in the Texas State Firefighters Association to assist with resources, and we are meeting as a Local to gather as much as possible from our benevolence fund to give to the Goolsby family.

We mean it when we talk about our Fire Family being a second family, the brotherhood is alive and well in Keller. Your Keller Firefighters are with you every step of the way, Jayci.

Hello! We are raising funds to help cover the expenses the Goolsby family will face as they h… Kelly Thompson needs your support for Faith Over Fear for Jayci

This week several members of our Technical Rescue Team braved the sweltering heat in pursuit of certification as Passenger Vehicle Rescue Technicians!

This class equips our team with the knowledge and training to overcome any obstacle faced when cars collide, people are trapped, and seconds matter.

Strong work, brothers!
