Thursday, May 28th at 5:30 pm - Cowlitz County is preparing a Transportation System Plan (TSP) to serve as a 20-year guide for the County’s transportation related investments, policies, and actions. This TSP will be incorporated as the Transportation Element of the Comprehensive Plan (Cowlitz2046).

Please join us virtually at the public stakeholder outreach meeting noted below to discuss transportation goals and strategies, ask questions, and share your thoughts.

Residents requiring translation services should contact staff in advance.
Members of the Board of County Commissioners may be in attendance.

This week is National Work Zone Awareness Week! Thank you for helping to keep the crews safe. They work hard every day to make sure your roads are safe and passable.

Today we highlight the Kalama area road crew working on Old Pacific Hwy. They're doing shoulder work to preserve the pavement edges from breaking and sloughing. This also helps to eliminate the chance of a vehicle tire catching the edge and provides a safer travelled way. Average daily traffic count (ADT) on this section of Old Pacific Hwy is 1,600. Between Todd Road and the Rebel Truckstop is closer to 2,900 ADT.

Equally awesome, the Longview area road crew is shown in the other picture working on Old Beacon Hill Drive to repair a rusted stormwater culvert pipe and catch basins. The ADT on Old Beacon Hill Drive is 330, but these poor guys are soaked.

Thank you to our big fans out there that drop off the baked goods for the workers. Although it only took you twenty minutes to make, it means the world to them and they'll never forget you. 😊🍪

We're sending this out a week early to give you Castle Rock folks time to prepare. Household Hazardous Waste free collection day is coming up on Saturday, April 25th. A huge thank you to the Cascade Select Grocery store for letting this happen from 9 a.m to 1 p.m. Saturday the 25th. Keep those kids, grandkids, and pets safe (and husbands too).
