Public Service Announcement from Mayor Bowen
As thistle season reaches a critical stage, Mayor Bowen is asking all property owners to inspect their property and remove any thistle w**ds before they go to seed.
Thistle spreads quickly once it produces seed, making it much more difficult to control and impacting neighboring properties throughout the community. By taking care of thistle now, residents can help protect their own property and support a cleaner, healthier community for everyone.
In accordance with the City's w**d ordinance, properties with thistle that has gone to seed may be subject to enforcement, including the issuance of a citation. Our goal is voluntary compliance, and we appreciate everyone's efforts to address the issue before enforcement becomes necessary.
If you are contacted by the Police Department regarding a w**d violation, please remember that officers are carrying out their responsibilities under the direction of the Mayor and in accordance with City ordinances. We ask that all interactions remain courteous and respectful.
Thank you for doing your part to help keep our community clean, safe, and free from the spread of noxious w**ds. Your cooperation is greatly appreciated.
